a presentation by the ADWR, part of Partnership’s Annual Meeting and Community Presentation
How is the State of Arizona planning for future water supplies and water resource use?
On January 14th, 2014, the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) released a report, Arizona’s Next Century: A Strategic Vision for Water Supply Sustainability, that provides their vision of how water factors in to Arizona’s continued economic prosperity and growth over the next Century.
The Strategic Vision aims to assess current and projected demands and water supplies that have been identified in recent reports and provides potential strategies that will help Arizona meet its future needs. Recent studies have identified potential long-term imbalances between available water supplies and projected water demands over the next 100 years if no action is taken.
As part of a statewide outreach tour to present the Strategic Vision and receive input, the ADWR is scheduling a series of presentations. The Partnership is sponsoring one of these outreach sessions at our Annual Meeting.
Please join us for this special opportunity to understand what our state’s vision is and to voice your questions and opinions. No RSVP is necessary and there is no cost to attend.
