Natural History Institute Speaker

February 15- 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Natural History Institute presents Lighting the Fire: A Natural History of Story.

From the Pleistocene birthing of humans onto African savannahs to present day, the power of story exerts a deep and abiding force on humanity. The predilection of humans to learn narratively is an adaptive trait that has evolved over 8,000 generations.

Bob Ellis, the Program Director at the Natural History Institute, uses humor, current research and his own stories to share with the audience a provocative and uplifting vision that touts the importance of the inter-play between story, beauty, and place.
