The 2019 Granite Creek Cleanup is coming up fast! On April 20th, 2019, members of the Prescott community will gather to celebrate Earth Day by removing trash from our beloved creeks. Last year, 400 people worked together to collect 1.24 tons of trash! Won’t you help make a difference in your community?
The Granite Creek Cleanup originated in the mid to late 1980s and was organized by Keep Prescott Beautiful – a City-sponsored committee. In 2006 the Keep Prescott Beautiful committee asked Prescott Creeks to take on the responsibility for organizing the Granite Creek Cleanup. We immediately agreed and are now in our 12th year of sponsoring the event.
During the first 10 years 4,500 volunteers have removed 43.3 tons of trash and debris from local creeks. All these volunteers contributed labor valued $100,000 toward the beautification of City of Prescott the Granite Creek Watershed. An additional $80,000 of value has been realized through event sponsors.
The Granite Creek Cleanup is a great opportunity for families and children, groups, and individuals to make a difference! Working together, we can all control pollution, protect nature, and ensure a healthy creek system for future generations.
