Recent monsoon rains have enabled explosive growth for our native grasses and wildflowers. With this, soils are easy to dig and plants respond well to transplanting. Two weeks ago, our volunteer CREW potted up 80 Horsetail Milkweed, salvaging them from a field where they would have been mowed. This week we will be replanting those milkweed in Watson Woods Riparian Preserve, where they will be free to grow wild and provide food and habitat for Monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
