Sponsor Spotlight

As wise caretakers of the land, Stewardship Sponsor The Highlands Center for Natural History and Supporting Sponsors Alta Vista Garden Club, Bike Prescott, The Hike Shack, and Jay’s Bird Barn are all committed giving back to the community. Showing their alliance with our mission, they converted their support to a donation after the Granite Creek Cleanup was cancelled (COVID-19). Thank you!

Please visit and learn the unique offerings of these longtime supporters of the Granite Creek Cleanup and see how they contribute to our community.

Granite Creek Cleanup Stewardship Sponsor the Highlands Center for Natural History is a non-profit nature center and forest destination dedicated to cultivating, in both children and adults, a sense of wonder about our ecologically diverse Central Highlands. The Center and its programs are designed to invite discovery of nature and to encourage those we touch to become wise caretakers of the land. “The Granite Creek Cleanup directly speaks to being wise caretakers of the land and connects us to our amazing natural world.“

Granite Creek Cleanup Supporting Sponsor Alta Vista Garden Club was organized and federated in 1951. From the beginning, AVGC members have given their knowledge and monetary contributions to enhance the Prescott area. We promote love and knowledge of gardening and floral design. We emphasize wise conservation practices to protect our native environment, including water use and planting selections. Some of our goals are to give our community plants, trees, and flowers and to be good stewards of the earth, beginning with our homes, gardens, and community. We wish to increase our knowledge and teach others about wildflowers, native plants, civic conservation, and our environment. To be a sponsor of the 2020 Granite Creek Cleanup fits right into our goals.

Granite Creek Cleanup Supporting Sponsor Jay’s Bird Barn is a backyard wild bird and nature gift store specializing in wild bird products such as bird seed, bird feeders, hummingbird supplies, field guides, and Vortex and Swarovski binoculars, spotting scopes, and accessories. Our mission at Jay’s is to help individuals create a connection to nature. Jay’s Bird Barn supports the Granite Creek Cleanup because we understand the importance of preserving native habitat, such as Watson Woods. We recognize the important role our watershed plays in creating habitats that are inviting to wild birds year around. Sources of clean water are critical to wild birds and the ecosystems they rely on. We appreciate the work that Prescott Creeks does to annually clean the many creeks flowing into Granite Creek and ultimately into Watson Lake.

Granite Creek Cleanup Supporting Sponsor Bike Prescott, Northern Arizona’s premier cycling club, values the outdoor opportunities in our community. We are pleased to support Prescott Creeks in their efforts to keep our outdoor places beautiful. With a membership of 160+, we offer a scheduled ride every day of the week. Although our focus is road cycling, we also lead gravel and mountain bike rides. You can join at bikeprescott.org or get information about our rides at meetup.

Granite Creek Cleanup Supporting Sponsor The Hike Shack has supported Prescott Creeks in the Granite Creek Cleanup and the One Man’s Treasure auction for many years.  The Hike Shack’s goal is to help people get outside and play. Our employees all use our gear and are educated to provide customers with great customer service to get them the right gear that is needed for any adventure they are taking. Part of our responsibility is to take care of the wilderness we love to explore.  The Granite Creek Cleanup is a great way for us to give back.  We are owned by three local women who believe in giving back to the community we are such a big part of.  We sponsor as many events, runs, races, teams, clean up days, etc. in our community as we are able to. Come visit us at 104 N Montezuma St. in Downtown Prescott or contact us at 928-443-8565.
