PRESCOTT CREEKS WELCOMES NEW STAFF
Peter Pierson Appointed to Development and Communications Role

Prescott Creeks has announced that Peter Pierson has been hired to take on the organization’s development and communications duties. Pierson’s work will engage the community in fostering broader awareness, appreciation, and support for the rich natural and cultural heritage of the waterways and natural areas in and around central Arizona. His background and experience will be an asset to our watersheds and riparian areas.

Pierson came to Prescott through his graduate work with Prescott College. As a firefighter and remote paramedic, he has lived and worked from northern Minnesota to arctic Alaska. His award-winning essay and natural history features have been published and produced for public radio broadcast across the US and Canada. That writing, with a focus on our connection to place, has led to freelance communications, networking, and development work with a number of community and conservation organizations across the West and back in his original home of Minnesota. He looks forward to working to help ensure that current and future generations have the opportunities to explore and foster their sense of wonder among Prescott’s natural places.

The Development and Communications position is a natural evolution for Prescott Creeks after the long-standing service of Outreach and Communications Director, Ann-Marie Benz. After almost ten (10) years with the organization, Prescott Creeks and all who have worked with Ann-Marie wish her the best as she moves on to be closer to family.

Celebrating its 25th year of service, Prescott Creeks is a nonprofit organization with the mission to achieve healthy watersheds and clean waters in central Arizona for the benefit of people and wildlife through protection, restoration, education, and advocacy.
