“Unity is strength… when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” These are profound words by Mattie Stepanek. Mattie J.T. Stepanek, is known as a poet and peace activist. Although he lived a short life, this young man sought a peaceful ideal for community. His words ring in my ear when I look to the future of our own community. Just as the first time, I saw the highlighted picture of Amanda’s dogs, Saturn and Simon, retrieving the wood stick and swimming to the shore as one. The two dogs united as friends for a common goal; friendship the true embodiment of teamwork.
The Granite Creek Cleanup could not be achieved, without collaboration; working hand-in-hand for the common good to make our community a better place. Our water, our wildlife, and our children need us to work together. I invite you, your friends and family to join Prescott Creeks as we create a peaceful change united as friends for the environment.
